Defending MPL Malaysia champions, Selangor Red Giants OG Esports, secured their Upper Brackets spot in the Playoffs and dethroned CG Esports from the top of the Regular Season standings in a thrilling Week 5.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 13 October 2025—The Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia has teased a crossover with Predator: Badlands, an upcoming Hollywood science fiction action film in the Predator franchise. The collaboration will see the Land of Dawn and the Predator universe intersect across multiple touchpoints, such as the official live broadcasts, the leagues owned channel platforms, and an exclusive fan screening of the film.

Set in the future on a deadly remote planet, Predator: Badlands follows a young Predator outcast who finds an unlikely ally as he embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. Predator: Badlands is now showing in Malaysian theatres.

Krystal Tan, Head of Business Development for Malaysia Esports at MOONTON Games, said: "Predator: Badlands is the league's second crossover with a major Disney franchise this season (the first being TRON: Ares). This is testament to how MPL Malaysia and esports have evolved into cultural mainstays that resonate deeply with today's youth. As we prepare for an "enhanced franchised format" next season, this partnership represents the bold, creative direction we're taking to elevate both the fan experience and the ecosystem as a whole. We're already beyond competition in esports; now, we're aiming to be Malaysia's number one sports entertainment product for young people."

Soloz, 7GL Headline "Children of MLBB"

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) marked its 9th Anniversary by unveiling the "Children of MLBB" (translated from "Kami Anak MLBB" in Bahasa Malaysia), a star-studded roster of Malaysian content creators. These include Muhammad Faris Zakaria, better known as Soloz, whose life story inspired the hit Malaysian-made movie, "Game of Life".

Soloz said: "The community makes MLBB special. Playing MLBB feels like home. Kami Anak MLBB—this is more than a slogan, it's who we are."

MLBB's Birthday Wish: Free Elite Skins For Malaysian Players!

MOONTON Games, the international game company behind MLBB, yesterday (12 October) also confirmed that the company would honour the birthday wish of a fan—for all Malaysian players to receive an elite skin. The fan had made this wish on live broadcast after being invited on-stage to share his birthday wish for MLBB. This marks the first time in MLBB history that a Malaysian player's wish has been brought to life, a milestone that reflects MOONTON Games' hyperlocalised growth strategy. This special one-time birthday reward launched in-game today (13 October) at midnight and will be available for only 48 hours.

SRG Dethrones CG And Qualifies To Playoffs, Four Playoffs Spots Left!

Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG) secured an Upper Brackets spot in the Playoffs after picking up maximum points from their double match-week in Week 5. The history-making three-time league champions defeated Team Rey (TR) and Monster Vicious (MV) to assume pole position in the Regular Season table for the first time this season. They remain defeated with 21 points.

CG Esports (CG) experienced a slight wobble in Week 5, losing 1-2 to Homebois (HB) and their place at the top of the table. Despite this setback, CG remain near-certain to secure the other Upper Bracket Playoffs spot with 18 points; they only need to secure one point against Team Vamos (VMS) in Week 6, Day 2 (18 October). Their 3:00 PM GMT+8 clash will be the all-important decider.

The Playoffs Bracket takes shape as we head into the final week of the Season 16 Regular Season.

Four Playoffs slots remain as we head into the penultimate Week 6 of the Season 16 Regular Season:

Homebois sit in third place with 15 points, one point away from securing a Playoffs spot. Their ambitions for an Upper Bracket slot are slim; they must beat AERO Esports 2-0 and hope CG lose 0-2 to VMS in Week 6.

VMS in fourth place on 14 points need one point from CG to confirm their Playoffs spot. However, they are no longer in the running for an Upper Bracket slot, courtesy of having only one match left in Week 6.

Monster Vicious (MV) in fifth place with 12 points can still qualify for an Upper Bracket spot. But they need a perfect Week 6 and hope that CG collapses 0-2 against VMS.

Untitled (UNT) in sixth with 10 points control their own destiny—a clean 2-0 victory over GamesMY Kelantan (GMXK) will secure them a Playoffs slot. Anything less will put them at the mercy of other results.
