Team Vamos (VMS), Homebois (HB), Monster Vicious (MV), and AERO Esports (AERO) complete the rest of the teams who qualify to the Playoffs.
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 21 October 2025—The countdown to a new era of Malaysian esports has begun! Where the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 16 Regular Season has concluded, with the upcoming Playoffs, fans have a final chance to experience this chapter of MPL Malaysia before it evolves into an "enhanced franchise format" in 2026.
This season's Playoffs will serve as both a farewell and a prelude—closing one historic chapter while paving the way for the league's transformation into an "enhanced franchise format" designed to deliver long-term stability, elevated team experiences, and greater community engagement. Since its inception in 2018, the league has grown into a cornerstone of Southeast Asia's esports ecosystem, shaping local heroes, empowering communities, and building a generation of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) icons.
The Playoffs represent the
last opportunity for fans to experience the league in its current form before a
new dawn rises. The Playoffs will offer fans more than world-leading
competitive excellence; it will also celebrate the evolution of Malaysian esports
and the athletes who defined its golden era. This will manifest with the MPL Malaysia Season 16 Awards, including a
brand new category exclusively for the media—the "2025 Media - Best Content Award"—to acknowledge the
top three pieces of storytelling in the media from the season.
The Season
16 Playoffs will take place at the Malaysia Agro
Exposition Park Serdang (MAEPS) in Serdang,
Selangor, from 13 to 16 November. Purchase tickets to the Playoffs on the Official Website.
The Race for the Crown: SRG and CG Take the
Lead
After six weeks of Regular
Season competition, Selangor Red Giants OG Esports (SRG) and CG Esports (CG)
have secured the coveted Upper Bracket spots, setting the stage for a historic
Playoffs where legacy, pride, and transition collide.
- SRG—The reigning three-time champions continue to dominate the league, securing the top seed with 24 points and no matches dropped after another commanding Regular Season. The team now aims to etch their name in history with an unprecedented fourth consecutive title before the new era begins.
- CG—The MLBB Academy League Malaysia (MAL MY) Season 3 champions have are primed to challenge SRG's dynasty. Under the leadership of Muhammad Danial "CikuGais" Mohamad Fuad, one of Malaysia's most decorated MLBB athletes and one of only three players to represent Malaysia from the M1 through M4 World Championship, the MLBB veterans have reclaimed their spot among the nation's elite with an impressive 18 points in their debut season.
Team Vamos (VMS) in third with 17 points, Homebois (HB) in fourth with 15 points, Monster Vicious (MV) in fifth with 15 points (but with an inferior head-to-head record against HB, having lost 0-2 to them in Week 4), and AERO Esports (AERO) in sixth with 13 points complete the rest of the teams who qualify to the Playoffs.
Note on the Season 16 Regular Season
Tiebreaker:
- During the Regular Season, teams are ranked based on Match Points; these are earned based on the results of each team's Best-Of-Three matches. A 2-0 win earns teams three points; a 2-1 win earns them two points; a 1-2 loss earns teams one point; a 0-2 loss earns teams zero points.
- If multiple teams are tied and are unable to determine the winner through Match Points ranking, the tied teams will be ranked by their Aggregate Points, determined by their number of winning games. Teams get one point for winning a game and deducted one point for losing a game.
- The next tiebreaker will be the head-to-head record of the tied teams.
The Playoffs match opener
on 13 November will see MV showdown against HB at 3:00 PM GMT+8. MV will be
looking for revenge against HB, having suffered a 0-2 loss during the Regular
Season; this ended up being the only difference between both teams in the final
Regular Season standings. The showdown between VMS and AERO will follow at 7:00
PM GMT+8.
