Teachers participating in the GJM 2026 Masterclass in Kuala Lumpur
KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, 27 April 2026—MOONTON Games has concluded the Guru Juara MOONTON (GJM) 2026 Masterclass across Selangor and Kuala Lumpur, as Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 17 completes the first leg of Regular Season, marking a highly competitive midpoint in the race to the Playoffs. Both initiatives now progress to their next phases, underscoring MOONTON Games' commitment to strengthening Malaysia's esports ecosystem through youth development and competitive excellence.
Jeffery Chan, Publishing Lead - Business Development and Campus Marketing at MOONTON Games, said: "The GJM Masterclass empowers educators to harness games like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) as a meaningful engagement tool in the classroom, while establishing healthy gaming frameworks to guide students. Building on last year's success in Selangor, our first expansion into Kuala Lumpur has seen strong uptake, with over 70% participation from local schools. We look forward to working closely with local authorities to sustain this momentum and reach more schools and educators nationwide."
In its next phase, the programme will see participating teachers lead school selections and training for the Under-12 Tournament, launching in the second half of the year. The tournament is aligned with existing school sports calendars, ensuring esports is integrated alongside traditional co-curricular programmes, with selected teams progressing to represent their schools at national level.
Week 4 Table Watch: First leg of the Regular Season closes out with a reshuffle
In parallel, MPL Malaysia Season 17 enters its decisive phase following notable movement across the standings in Week 4.
Selangor Red Giants (SRG) remain firmly at the top, setting the benchmark with consistent control. Team Rey (TR) delivered a stunning remontada, recovering from early losses to string together a five-match winning streak that lifted them from the "8th place curse" into 2nd position. Invictus Gaming (IG) holds 3rd after pushing SRG to the limit, while RRQ TORA's early dominance crumbled with consecutive losses, dropping them to 5th as the standings tighten.
As Week 5 begins the second round-robin, the Regular Season shifts into high gear where familiarity between teams raises competitive intensity and every match carries heightened Playoff implications.
