Esports (on Day 3).
- Defending champions, Homebois, secured
second place and a place in the Playoffs Upper Bracket after victories
over NINERS (on Day 1) and Bountee Esports (on Day 3).
- Taking place from 11 to 12 May, the

two guaranteed safe spots.

Week 5, Day 2.
KUALA LUMPUR, 6 May – Selangor Red
Giants are one match away from writing themselves into the Mobile Legends: Bang
Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia history books. The Red Giants powered
their way past King Empire Esports (on Day 2) and Barracuda Esports (on Day 3)
in Week 5 of the Season 13 Regular Season to set themselves up to become the
first team in MPL Malaysia history to complete a Regular Season without
dropping a single game. They will beat Team SMG's record in Season 11 where
they dropped only one game in nine matches.
King Empire Esports forced
the Red Giants into their longest game this season – 23 minutes and 22 seconds
– in Game 2 but could not blemish the league leaders' pristine record this
season. By topping the Regular Season table, Selangor Red Giants get a bye into
the Upper Bracket Semi Finals of the Playoffs.
Selangor Red Giants Coach, Michael
"Arcadia" Angelo Bocado, said in the Day 3
post-match interview: "We're really confident this season. For us, the
biggest challenge is being overconfident. So we want that good balance of being
confident and being not complacent. Before this season even started, we just
talked as a team, 'let's just enjoy the journey', because we know ourselves
that we can win it all. We just try to avoid pressure."
Defending champions,
Homebois, locked in second place and the other coveted spot in the Upper
Bracket Semi Finals, courtesy of victories over NINERS (2-1 on Day 1) and
Bountee Esports (2-0 on Day 3). The Season 12 champions have won seven
consecutive matches since their opening day loss to Selangor Red Giants.
RSG Malaysia (on Day 2)
and NINERS (on Day 3) combined to destroy TODAK's hopes of catching Homebois in
Week 5. The Season 7 champions put in a gritty performance to beat TODAK 2-1
and continue their climb back up the table, with their EXP Laner, Muhammad Arif
"RIPPO" bin Abdul Halim, putting in an MVP of the Match performance
in front of his fiancée in the audience. NINERS then swept the three-time MPL
Malaysia champions to greatly boost their hopes of survival in only their
second win of the season.

standings are as follows:
Week 6 Preview: Final Chance For Glory Or
Survival
Taking place from 11 to 12
May, the penultimate week of the Season 13 Regular Season will see plenty of
movements between positions three to 10. Six teams – TODAK, King Empire
Esports, RSG Malaysia, Team HAQ, NINERS, and Monster Vicious – separated by 3 points
are competing for four Playoffs spots. Four teams – NINERS, Monster Vicious,
Barracuda Esports, and Bountee Esports – separated by 2 points will battle for
two guaranteed safe spots (seventh and eighth), with the ninth-placed team to
play a "Challenger vs Defender" match against the 2nd-placed
Challengers Conference team from Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Academy League (MAL MY), based on the
MAL MY Regular Season ranking.
Bountee Esports begin Week
6 with a must-win match against RSG Malaysia. However, even a clean 2-0 sweep
may not be enough to ensure their survival, should fellow relegation-battlers,
NINERS, Monster Vicious, and Barracuda Esports secure any results in Week 6.
RSG Malaysia need to win just one game to secure a spot in the Playoffs, but
will be looking to secure maximum points to stand a chance to overtake King
Empire Esports in third and obtain a more favourable draw in the Play Ins.
Eighth-placed Monster
Vicious will need to beat TODAK 2-0 to stand any chance of keeping their
Playoffs dreams alive. Should they achieve that feat, they will require King
Empire Esports to do them the favour of beating Team HAQ 2-0, and NINERS to
lose 2-0 to Homebois. The all-Malaysian team will also be wary of Barracuda and
Bountee Esports right below them in the standings. Having lost to NINERS in
Week 5, TODAK will be equally pressured with the knowledge that any slip-up
will put them at risk of being overtaken by RSG Malaysia or Team HAQ.
The final match of Day 1,
Barracuda Esports will need to take at least one game off Homebois to put them
out of Bountee Esports' reach. However, they will need to achieve a better
result than NINERS and Monster Vicious to avoid a ninth-place finish and having
to play the "Challenger vs Defender" match; this will be a tall order
against an in-form Homebois, although the defending champions only playing for
pride, having already secured an Upper Bracket Semi Finals spot in the Playoffs,
might be to their advantage.
On Day 2, Team HAQ will
take on King Empire Esports, with the winner certain to place higher in the
standings, regardless of the margin.
Finally, Selangor Red
Giants take on NINERS to determine if they will remain invincible in the Season
13 Regular Season. NINERS need to at least equal Monster Vicious and Barracuda
Esports' results to assure their survival, being ahead of the former due to
head-to-head record, and ahead of the latter based on points.
