KUALA LUMPUR, 13 May The final week of the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Malaysia Season 13 Regular Season concluded with the esports community uniting in a heart-warming display of solidarity for is national footballers, following the recent attacks. The display took place during the match between Selangor Red Giants and NINERS on 12 May, and featured banners and solidarity chants led by the ultras. Last week, Selangor Red Giants Football Club launched the "Stand With Faisal Halim. Stop The Violence!" solidarity campaign following the acid-splashing attack on the Malaysian player.

MPL Malaysia also issued a statement expressing support for the recovering athletes. Fikri Rizal Mahruddin, Marketing & Business Development Lead at MOONTON Games, said: "The recent attacks on our national footballers have greatly shocked and saddened us. We stand in solidarity with our fellow professional athletes on this matter and will take stricter precautions for the wellbeing and safety of our own. The league wishes a speedy recovery for Faisal "Miki" Halim and Akhyar Rashid.”

Week 6: Selangor Red Giants set unbeaten record, Bountee Esports relegated

The final week of the Season 13 Regular Season saw joy and misery at both ends of the table. League leaders, Selangor Red Giants, set a new benchmark by becoming the only team in MPL Malaysia history to not drop a single game during the Regular Season. They defeated NINERS 2-0 to bring their season tally to 18 games won with no reply, surpassing Team SMG's 18-1 run in Season 11.

 

Bountee Esports became the first team in MPL Malaysia history to be relegated to the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Academy League (MAL MY) – the developmental leg of the Malaysian MLBB esports league system – after losing 1-2 to RSG MY. Game 3 was decided on the 18th-minute mark, when the Sarawakian team's Midlaner, Chua "Azyst" Yu Hao, was caught out of position, leading to a Wipeout and defeat. Bountee Esports will compete in Season 2 of MAL MY as a Challengers Conference team, where they will be looking for a quick return to MPL Malaysia.

With the conclusion of the Season 13 Regular Season, the top 6 teams will next meet in the Playoffs from 30 May to 2 June. There, they will battle for the MPL Malaysia title and USD 100,000 (~MYR 468,000) prize pool, as well as the opportunity to compete for the life-changing ~MYR 14 million (USD 3 million) prize pool at the Mid Season Cup (MSC) 2024, held in conjunction with the Esports World Cup in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 28 June to 14 July. The Season 13 champions of MPL Malaysia will earn direct qualification to the MSC 2024 Main Stage, while the first runner-up will proceed to the MSC 2024 Wild Card. MPL Malaysia is organised by MOONTON Games and IO Esports and supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Esports Integrated (ESI).
