Barracuda Esports Takes Over Team Lunatix Slot for MPL MY Season 13

After a season filled with controversy, Team Lunatix's place in the upcoming Mobile Legends Professional League Malaysia (MPL MY) Season 13 is set to undergo a transition. The team faced allegations of mismanagement, affecting both its primary lineup in Malaysia and its amateur team in the Philippines, which was established through a partnership with Blacklist International. As the MPL MY Season 13 approaches, Barracuda Esports steps in take over the slot of Team Lunatix, bringing fresh anticipation to the event.

 

Team Lunatix slot taken over by new team for MPL MY Season 13

Through a Facebook post on 23rd October 2023, MPL Malaysia announced a surprising slot transfer for Season 13. A new team named Barracuda Esports shall be taking over the slot of Team Lunatix for the upcoming season.

“The Team Lunatix slot is now taken over by Team Barracuda! By putting experienced players in the lineup, will a new meta emerge? A new strategy? Give your support to Team Barracuda! Keep Barra!” captioned the post.

 

Amidst the MPL MY Season 12 Team Lunatix was hit with a series of allegations of team mismanagement. One incident was regarding its partnership with Blacklist International where the esports organization allegedly failed to financially support the team's amateur squad, Blacklist Academy. 

According to a report from Esports Portal PH, Team Lunatix MY’s Filipino import Robert “Hito” Candoy claims that while he is fine under the team, the esports organization did not provide enough groceries for the players to the point that the members had to buy their own food and "have their own strategy" to survive.

 

The full roster of the new team is yet to be unveiled. It is also unconfirmed whether Team Lunatix will step down from competing in MPL MY Season 13 or will still try to join the competition through the qualifier stage. Fans will have to keep their eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
